Curriculum Overview

WHY ACCELERATED CHRISTIAN EDUCATION (A.C.E.)?

  • A.C.E. has developed its program for over four decades with proven results of academic achievement and graduates who attend more than 1,400 colleges and universities locally and globally with outstanding performances.
  • A.C.E. offers a non-traditional approach to education with solid Christian values based on the Bible.
  • A.C.E. differs from other curriculum because it provides individualized, self-instructional, mastery-based approach.
  • A.C.E. applies "FIVE LAWS OF LEARNING" to its academic philosophy:
    1. The pupil is placed on a LEVEL of curriculum where he can best perform.
    2. The pupil sets reasonable and appropriate GOALS to be achieved in a reasonable period of time.
    3. The pupil receives MOTIVATION through encouragement and support and achieves CONTROL through guidance and discipline in order to assimilate, use, and experience the educational material.
    4. The pupil's learning must be MEASURED, which relates to accountability.
    5. The pupil's learning receives recognition and REWARDS for its effort and significance.

  • A.C.E. implements "SEVEN KEY FOUNDATION CONCEPTS":
    1. Integration of Biblical Principles
    2. Godly Character Training
    3. Mastery-based Learning
    4. Built-in Reinforced System of Learning
    5. Individualized Learning
    6. Development of Critical Thinking Skills
    7. Socialization

Junior High School
The Accelerate Christian Education (ACE) is the main curriculum of our Junior High School program (Grade 7 to 9).  ACE lays the right foundation to instill independent mastery learning and goal setting in this transitional age. ACE also enhances the student’s non-academic skills through Student Convention where all ACE students across the country compete in hundreds of competitions ranging from academics, sports, arts, and music. This extensive event is at the heart of ACE where each individual’s potentials are discovered and developed.

To meet national curriculum standards, Junior High School in LCS utilizes the online Merdeka Curriculum through the kejarcita.id website. The Merdeka Curriculum was designed by the Ministry of Education to provide an opportunity for every individual to get to know Indonesia according to their environmental conditions through the P5 approach, a learning system that aims to observe and solve problems around them through five main aspects: self-potential, self-empowerment, self-improvement, self-understanding, and social roles. With online learning using kejarcita.id, students can learn more flexibly and maintain fun learning environment. At grade 8, students will receive a Computer-Based National Assessment to measure literacy and numeracy.

Students in grade 9 are recommended to take the National Examination as the national standard for graduation. Junior and Senior High School students often collaborate together to make projects
where they can learn more about teamwork and leadership. All programs are a combination of life
skills such as:  public speaking, community development, entrepreneurship, global and
sustainability awareness.  Enrichment activities in Junior High School are designed intentionally
within the frame of 4Cs skills which include critical thinking, creativity, communication
and collaboration.   We see the importance of preparing excellent Junior High School students as
this will be the foundation for their next education level.

At Life Community School, we are aware that the present world demands students who do not just excel in their academic achievements. We also aim to educate our students by developing critical life skills.  Enrichment like: public speaking, community development, entrepreneurship, global and sustainability awareness have been routinely nurtured throughout our academic year. Senior High School students are also prepared to take on leadership roles by initiating projects, supervising and guiding the lower grade students in lots of activities. Within all our efforts, we instill the modern soft skills of the 4Cs which include critical thinking, creativity, communication, and collaboration in each of our student.

What is PACE?

Packets of Accelerated Christian Education (PACE) is similar to a conventional textbook which are divided into bite-sized, achievable work-texts. Each PACE is more or less equivalent to a unit in a textbook. Each level consists of 12 PACEs in each subject.

PACEs integrate character-building lessons into the academic content. Each PACE begins with students reading the objective of the PACE, concept they will learn in that PACE, a Bible verse and a corresponding character trait.

Through the use of PACEs, A.C.E. program allows students to absorb subject material at their own pace rather than being forced to learn at a pace set by a teacher in a classroom environment. Instead of being assigned to age-related grade, each student may advance according to his or her individual learning abilities.

90 Character Traits
More than a slogan, Building Lives, One Child at a Time is the heart of our school.
Shaping our students to be Christ-like in their speech, attitude and actions whenever and wherever they go is our priority.

And with the built-in character training in our ACE curriculum, this is made possible.
In seeking to build character, each PACE focuses on one of the 90 Character Traits.

They are presented in poems, songs, in role-modeling character strips, and character-building fun activities.
Thus our students will naturally embrace these characters.

Testimonial
Hi, my name is Ashton. I am an alumnus of Life Community School, I graduated in 2021. Currently, I am pursuing my studies in International Relations at Parahyangan Catholic University in Bandung.
I chose the International Relations major because I have always been interested in social studies and analyzing world events. Additionally, I am fascinated by the cultures and histories of countries all over the world.
In my opinion, Life Community School played a fundamental and significant role in shaping my personality, enabling me to develop into an independent, goal-oriented, and responsible individual, both academically and in terms of character.
Life Community School also taught me how to organize my life efficiently and effectively in my role as a student. My passion for subjects like "Social Studies," "World History," and "History of Civilization" drove me to choose the right major when entering university.
Lastly, I would like to convey a message that might inspire and motivate LCS students through a poem I created:
Work and study hard
until you can be the best.
So you can be smart
To pass life's tests.
